Mobile Web Design - Dayton Ohio

The market has been telling us for about a year now that the web device of choice is the phone. Did you listen? By our own measurements (Google Analytics), phone traffic on most websites has more than tripled in the last two years and in many cases exceeds the desktop traffic for those same websites.

in Mobile Web Development Mobile SEO Responsive Web Design

Last September we got a flurry of calls from website owners that they had lost a lot of ground in the SERPs (search engine results pages). I suspect the same thing will happen this year when the Google mobile algorithm penalty hits. The question do you want to wait or do you want to take advantage of the fact that it is going to happen? I can tell you straight up that it's much easier to hold a position in Google than it is to recover one you've lost.

First, getting a responsive design will cost you about a month of development effort. It could be faster than that but if you wait for the onslaught, you may find yourself in the back of the line. The websites that already are sporting a phone friendly design may well jump ahead of you in Google searches.

Once you have your mobile design in place, you're in recovery mode. Don't expect to just fall back into place based on what your Google rank was before this issue was raised. Position in Google is not easily lost or gained. It can take months.

Without getting into all the nitty-gritty of SEO, the whole point is to not lose your position in the first place. That means making sure that you are doing what Google thinks you should be doing relative to what the market is asking for. Right now, the market is asking that your site be mobile friendly. So, be mobile friendly. Call us! We'll help you get it done!
